Not only is turquoise my December birth stone, just looking at the colour makes me feel happy, it is also meant to balance the chakras, stabilise mood swings and instil inner calm. It is excellent for depression and exhaustion, it also has the power to prevent panic attacks! I own a few pieces myself - some real some fake - and I am always on the look out for more pieces.
Turquoise is often associated with Navajo jewellery particularly squash blossom style. Since the early 19th century the Zuni people of South America have been known for making silver and turquoise jewellery, baskets and beadwork.
