Things to do in London

April 30, 2018

Oh London, you are a fabulous city! I feel very lucky to live a short train journey from our capital. It is a huge city - with so much going for it. It's a city where history meets modern times with many museums, art galleries, markets, theatres and beautiful parks to explore.

Despite growing up just south of the river there are still many things I'd still love to do. For great ideas on a budget take a look at Groupon's latest deals on the best activities to check out in London.

Here are just a few ideas:

Book a sight-seeing trip. Be it an open top bus, a guided walk, a river cruise or even a Jack the Ripper experience there are plenty of great guided tours of the London to choose from.

Museums. London is home to some fantastic museums from the popular Natural History and Science Museums to the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green and the London Film Museum - there is somewhere to suit all tastes.

Visit an iconic attraction be it the London Eye, Buckingham Palace or the Tower of London - these great landmarks are a must see.

Great for families. London Zoo, Madame Tussauds the Sealife Centre and The London Dungeon all provide a day out to remember.

Warner Brothers Studio Tour. The tour at Leavesden Studio is an absolute must for Harry Potter fans! We have been twice for birthday treats and would happily return again and again.

Markets. from Covent Garden to Greenwich and the eclectic Camden Town - London has some fantastic shopping areas. Head to Bethnal Green on a Sunday for Columbia Road flower market and explore all the quirky, hipster shops in Hackney.

The Slide at the ArcelorMittal Orbit. Take a ride down the world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Kew Gardens and Richmond Park. Roam through the beautiful botanical gardens at Kew or visit the deer and the Isabella Plantation at Richmond Park.

I have hardly scratched the surface as there is so much more to see and do - where would you go?
