Tea in the Japanese Garden

Anyone fancy a spot of afternoon tea (or morning tea) in a beautiful Japanese garden?

Gatton Park in Reigate, Surrey covers 260 acres which is plenty of space for children to run around and burn off some energy. Although this park is not open daily there are open days and events throughout the year. The open days are the first Sunday of the month between February and October and additional days during February, August and October – see website for details www.gattonpark.com

Although there are several more formal gardens which can be appreciated there is also plenty of open space. A recent addition to the park is the Wild Things Play Trail found in the Pleasure Gardens. This play trail made from natural material encourages children to get in touch with nature and just have fun in the fresh air. Areas include the Musical Tree, Log Scramble, Snake pit and the Rickety Ropes.

The Japanese Garden originally created for Jeremiah Colman, of mustard fame, who had a passion for all things oriental has now been restored and is the backdrop for exclusive cream teas. We offer exclusive use of the Japanese Garden to enjoy a delicious cream tea on certain days throughout the year. You may even be lucky and catch a glimpse of the kingfisher. £10 adults, £5 children. (Minimum charge of £40 & Maximum 6 adults per group) including a buggy ride.
