What's On at Winterville?

Following the huge success of last year’s Winterville, London’s alternative festive experience returns to Clapham Common for it’s biggest year yet! Opening 15th November - 23rd December 2018.

Kicking off festivities in true style, Winterville will play host to the wildest opening weekend the pop-up town has ever seen. Melanie C AKA Sporty Spice will start the party by taking to the Spiegeltent decks for a trip down memory lane with an extra special 90s Mixtape DJ set.

Over the weekend, Ultimate Power are shaping up to bring the ultimate sing-a-long session to the Common, while the Two Brewers Takeover are primed and ready to get the masses grooving with London Gay Big Band who are set to stamp out those November blues.

There’ll be festive fun for all the family on the opening weekend, with an extra special concert from Lambeth Live Explosion, a performance opportunity which invites young local musicians to participate and share their talent with audiences under the iconic Spiegeltent roof. Little Bird’s Fun Quarter will also return once again for the opening weekend, where little ones can learn new circus skills, craft Christmas decorations and enjoy a glitter tattoo applied by one of Santa’s elves, all for free!

Throughout the festive period, the Spiegeltent will house some of the biggest and best every Friday and Saturday night, and all for FREE. The huge programme of fun and frolics will see the likes of the godfather of club culture Norman Jay MBE, founding father of Soul II Soul Jazzie B, party starters The Cuban Brothers, selector extraordinaire DJ Yoda, and London’s favourite funk soul & disco spinners South London Soul Train, plus many more resident DJs still to be announced.

London’s top club nights will also be making their home at Winterville for the month, with pop heavyweights Guilty Pleasures and the UK’s longest running party Bugged Out providing dancefloor fillers every weekend. Singalong dons Massaoke will be at the reigns every Thursday, and Karaoke Hole on Saturdays, for all your crooning needs, while eyes will be down for Indeedy Musical Bingo who will pop in for a Saturday night one-off special.

More exclusive pop-ups providing fun for all the family will be on hand at Winterville. Groundswell Arts’ Story Lab gives little ones the chance to design their own sleigh, reindeer and fly with elves against a magical backdrop thanks to their Green Screen technology, and Mrs H and the Singalong Band will have people of all ages joining in.

Big screen favourites Backyard Cinema, will open their Christmas Labyrinth each and every week for special festive screenings, and Plonk Golf - the perfect destination if if you fancy some neon-lit pitch and putt. The ever-popular Ice Rink will be back in full force this year, while Twisted Wheels Roller Disco is the only place in London to boogie on wheels this Christmas, and finish any last minute Christmas shopping at the expansive Solo Craft Fair.

With midweek entertainment from Lucha Britannia Mexican Wrestling, Rabbit Rabbit Comedy, Chivaree Circus, a range of talks from Funzing and much much more, there’s fun for all the family too, with your toddler’s favourite ravers Big Fish Little Fish providing day-glo vibes, theatrical escapades from Bus King, educational entertainment from Okido and much, much more.

Some of the biggest names in the LGBTQ+ scene will be taking over the Spiegeltent every Sunday, with Mighty Hoopla’s Christmas Jumpergeddon, Mariah & Friendz and U Okay Hun? on hand to deliver the big hits and winter warmers that make Winterville the only club destination you need this Christmastime.

With food provided by the one and only Street Feast, stay tuned for more information on the extra special traders who’ll be bringing their festive feasts to Clapham Common.

Tickets to the Ice Rink, Roller Disco, Backyard Cinema and selected shows are available to book in advance online.
