Ten places that I really want to visit

In the whole grand scheme of things I haven't actually travelled much in my 38 years on this planet. In my teens and early 20's I did the usual Greek island holidays, Zakynthos, Kos, Kefalonia.....

We visited Malta when I was pregnant with Keira in 2005 and then Paris but since then, money has been tight and our last actual holiday was in 2008, when we went to Majorca with a toddler and a baby.

I have had my heart set on certain places, if I can see some of these in my lifetime I will be a very happy little human. I would say these are probably my top 10 in no particular order.

Chefchaouen, Morocco. Why do I want to go there? Well, I have always wanted to go to Morocco anyway, but I just love how pretty and blue Chefchaouen is. My husband once joked that I see everywhere as a photo opportunity, he's not wrong, I am always thinking of ideas for photographs. The town is perched beneath the Rif Mountains and has a pretty Medina and amazing winding streets in shades of blue.

Joshua Tree National Park, California. This is all about the scenery for me, I love the dessert vibes, it's a hikers dream. I would love to camp there among the cacti under the big clear skies.

Moraine Lake, Banff National Park, Canada. What can I say, this is shear beauty. I would love to see Canada in general but the Moraine Lake just looks amazing. The lake is glacially fed giving it that wonderful turquoise colour.

Ibiza Hippy Market. This one may be doable one year. Ibiza, the quieter part, looks very beautiful and I would be in my element in the Hippy Markets there.

Kyoto, Japan. My kids in particular would love to visit Japan as they love anime. I however would love to see the traditional area of Kyoto, the bamboo forests, temples and gardens are high on my list.

Antelope Canyon, Arizona. One reason mainly for this, it looks so epic. With tall winding walls, it’s a natural sandstone sculpture. A photographer’s dream, it is known for its wave-like structure and the light beams that shine directly down into the openings.

Santorini. Greece. I love Greece and we have not been to this part. Santorini looks so pretty and traditional, with its blue and white houses and beautiful blues seas.

Scandinavia. I am not fussy where we'd stay, Scandinavia appeals to my outdoorsy side. If I could get to see the Northern Lights that would be a dream come true.

Zalipie, Poland. For the folky houses. I would love to see Eastern Europe, I have relatives in Ukraine. This village is so pretty with its beautiful painted houses, you know how much I love my folk style.

Merida, Mexico. I love everything about South America, it's culture, the bright colours, I would love to visit Peru, but there is something about Mexico that is calling me.

Do you have a travel bucket list?
