Why I love the Autumn

I can't say I have a favourite season as such - but I do love the Autumn. I can smell the change in season - a crisp freshness in the air.

The Autumn Equinox took place on September 22: "The equinox happens when the equator passes the centre of the sun. This is when the north and south poles of the Earth are not tilted towards or away from the sun, as at other times, but are aligned so as to give, theoretically, the same amount of daylight in both of the Earth's hemispheres."

I love the changing colours of the leaves, crunching through the woods, snuggling under cosy blankets with a good book and a hot drink. Wrapping up in chunky knits and sitting by a roaring log fire. Baking apple crumble and stewing delicious casseroles. Collecting conkers and hunting for mushrooms.

Visiting the pumpkin patches and seeing all the different kinds and then carving them for Halloween.

Yes Autumn, I really do like you a lot.
